Designtastic's editor Yvonne Courtney – is a design/publishing professional, advising design companies, publishers and retailers on PR strategy and business development – brokering designers, manufacturers, publishers and retailers to generate collaborative projects; and providing curatorial input for niche retailers, exhibitions and events. She also contributes to newspapers, magazines and books, and compiles content for newsletters, ezines, websites, exhibition catalogues, brochures and press advertising. Clients/projects include – the Design Museum, Taschen, Laurence King, Knoll, Seymour Powell, Inflate, Pierre Cardin, Swarovski Crystal Palace, plus projects for Camron and Caro Communications, involving Design Miami/Basel, Anouska Hempel Design, Stylus, Tai Ping, Clerkenwell Design Week, Fritz Hansen, Nigel Coates and TOTO – and writing assignments for The National, Monocle, Weekend FT, Modernism magazine and the London Design Guide (2011 edition).
Designtastic's art director Brian Walters, is the founder of First Sight Design Ltd – which for more than 10 years has been designing websites, magazines, newsletters, ezines, brochures, advertising, packaging and graphic identities. Delivering creative and strategic expertise, First Sight is well placed to promote a brand effectively – vital when looking to maximise the return on valuable marketing spend. Creating design and artwork for both print and screen – clients include the Daily Mail Group (various publications and promotional material), Heinz and Mars (packaging for Twix and WeightWatchers Desserts) to Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, Hertz, Best Western Hotels (brochures, flyers, html emails), among many others.
Yvonne and Brian first worked together on gulf interiors (then part of the Daily Mail Group) – when Yvonne took the reigns as editor and Brian was the magazine's UK-based art director.
